Diary of the Young and Married: A Perfect Day
Cinco De Mayo with the love of my life today.
We woke up later than we wanted but still not too late, had some breakfast and then headed for the city-wide yard sales.
Yard Sale Finds: Turquoise, antique ceramic dishware ($8), 70’s Beer mug from Brazil ($8), ‘77 Chevelle remote control car (.50), legit picnic basket ($5 sold online for $30), smoker grill ($5 sold at walmart for $65), and a spice rack with all the spices, unopened ($1)
After the yard sale we went out to eat at our favorite asian restaurant and walked the mall until our movie started, The Avengers! Our theater had no air conditioning but it wasn’t as bad as I figured, even with it being 90 degrees outside. The movie was incredible and everything we hoped for. Husband and I left the movies very pleased and headed home. We went to Walmart for some last minute things to make our Tres Leches cake which was a major success, had a nice glass of wine and now it’s time to relax in bed.
Days like these are hard to come by in our busy lives but when given the chance, we make the best of the entire day. Sometimes as a young married couple, who are short on cash and extremely busy, you forget what it’s like to spend the whole day with nothing going on but loving each other. These are important days to have so make time for them, even if it means sacrificing other engagements. We are so in love and our whole day was flirty and romantic. I couldn’t ask for a happier life. Tomorrow is going to be a full day with starting with a workout, a picnic with my sisters, homework and then an entire night dedicated to Mexican celebrations at my in-laws’ home. If I had to pick the perfect weekend, well, you get the idea.
